In Chisinau, more than 50 thousand people gathered for an anti-government protest. Endless actions began on September 18 by supporters of the Shor party, who organized tent camps in front of the parliament and in front of the presidential palace. The protesters demand to compensate for the increase in gas and electricity tariffs and provide material assistance to the population.
Today’s rally was supposed to take place in the central square of the Great National Assembly in front of the government building, and this was agreed with the authorities. However, the protesters were blocked by the police, which caused a clash between the protesters and law enforcement officers.
Now the rally participants are burning fireworks and shouting various slogans. The organizers urge them not to resort to violence and accuse the police of provocation.
