Five ex-PMC fighters received veterans’ certificates after appealing to Putin

Former mercenary of the Redut PMC Sergei Sobolev received a combat veteran certificate with the assistance of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. Four former fighters of the Wagner PMC also received certificates, reported press service fund. The press release reports that the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation sent applications to the relevant commission of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the issuance of veteran’s certificates to other mercenaries of the Redut PMC. The presentation of the certificate to Mr. Sobolev took place at the Novosibirsk branch of the foundation.

December 18, 2023, Chairman of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation Anna Tsivileva issued at a ceremony in Moscow, 32 soldiers of the Wagner PMC received certificates of combat veterans. In total, at that time, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation issued about 500 certificates to the fighters of the Wagner PMC. According to the chairman of the fund, Anna Tsivileva, more than 3 thousand applications were submitted to the fund from soldiers of a private military company.
