“The return of Russian athletes to international competitions has become more difficult. Before mobilization and referendums, a neutral status was considered for our athletes, but now this is out of the question,” said Ms. Vyalbe.
Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Legkov added that it is too early to talk about the final decision of the FIS, since it will not be made until October 22. “Maybe even now the FIS wants to see us. The question is whether other countries will declare their non-participation if our guys are admitted. Most likely, the dialogue is taking place in this format,” he explained to RIA Novosti.
