The establishment of serial production of “Boas” began in the fall of 2022. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Oleg Salyukov, from 2022 to 2024, the military department should buy over 3 thousand pistols.

The Russian self-loading nine-millimeter pistol “Udav” was developed by JSC “TsNIItochmash” and proposed as a replacement for the Makarov pistol. It was first introduced in 2016. The pistol weighs 780 g empty, magazine capacity – 18 rounds, has an effective range of 100 m.
