Firefighters from Nizhnekamsk performed at the Olympic Games in Iran

A team from the Federal Fire Service of the Nizhnekamsk Branch of the Office of Contractual Subdivisions in the Republic of Tatarstan became a participant in the Olympic Games in Iran among firefighters for the protection of petrochemical industry facilities, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
In Iran, for the sixth time, a specific “Olympiad” was held among fire departments, the invitation of Tatarstan citizens was a pleasant surprise, said the team’s coach Rafis Ziyatdinov. Already on November 16, they were in Tehran, then they reached the city of Eseluye, where the competitions were going on.
They accepted the Tatars as good friends, the coach recalls. The Olympics included six stages: elements familiar to fire and rescue sports, as well as “exotic”, for example, the sleeves are rolled up not from the center, as usual, but in a spiral, one end of the sleeve is inside, the other is outside.
Their combat clothing and other fire equipment are slightly different. The host country gave the necessary equipment to the Nizhnekamsk residents, Ziyatdinov noted.
Finished 17th out of 25 teams. The Iranians expressed admiration for the level of training of the Tatars and the ability to navigate in an unusual situation. And no wonder: five-time world champion Roman Vagner, multiple champions of Russia Alexei Kuznetsov and Eduard Korovin played in the Nizhnekamsk team, Ziyatdinov noted.
Perhaps the Iranian team will be able to show up and participate in one of the Tatarstan tournaments. This could be an interesting experience of international cooperation, said Rafis Ziyatdinov.
