Finnish media “spotted” a Russian submarine off the coast of Hanko

The Finnish public broadcasting corporation YLE, citing eyewitnesses, informed about an allegedly Russian submarine discovered on the evening of August 22 near the Finnish city of Hanko.
It is specified that the submarine attracted the attention of the passengers of the ship located off the coast of Hanko. Commander Anssi Munkki of the National Defense University allegedly recognized the ship and claimed it was a Russian Kilo-class submarine, manufactured since the 1980s.
It is known that the designation “Kilo” is used in NATO for Russian submarines of project 877 “Halibut” and project 636 “Varshavyanka”.
