Finland to give Ukraine another package of military aid

The Finnish government approved an additional package of military assistance to Ukraine, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense of the country on its official website.
This aid package will be the eighth in a row that Finland will provide to Ukraine. “The defensive struggle of Ukraine continues, the need for assistance remains high. We are sending a new package of defense materials,” said the head of the department, Antti Kaikkonen.
In order to guarantee the delivery of aid, the Ministry will not provide any additional information about its content, method and time of delivery. The report noted that this assistance package takes into account both the needs of Ukraine and the situation with resources within Finland itself.
TASS wrote citing Reuters that the amount of defense assistance of the new package will be 8.3 million euros. As a result, the total amount of aid provided by Finland to Ukraine will rise to 92.3 million euros.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of the special operation on February 24. Then the president called its goal the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, as well as the protection of the civilian population of Donbass from genocide. During his speech at the Luzhniki Stadium at a concert in honor of the annexation of Crimea on March 18, Putin said that the main goal of the special operation was “to save people from this suffering and genocide.” In Ukraine, after the start of the special operation, martial law was introduced and mobilization was announced.
