The twentieth package of military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is being prepared by Finland. Its amount is estimated at almost 100 million euros. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Antti Hakkanen, according to an official statement on the department’s website.
the statement says that the decision to help Ukraine was made by the President of the Republic, Sauli Niiniste, on November 17, 2023, at the proposal of the government.
The Finnish Defense Minister noted that the total compensation cost of the twenty aid packages is 1.5 billion euros. They concern weapons.
Hakkanen added that the Finnish side will remain steadfast in its decision to support Ukraine, since “the security of Europe and Finland in the current decade directly depends on this.”
Formerly NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence that the United States of America will continue to help Kyiv, despite the disputes in Congress. He said this at a press conference in Brussels.
Stoltenberg added that other allied countries will also continue to support Kyiv.
