Financial Literacy Train

On December 15, a financial literacy train left the Sokolnicheskaya metro line.

Its registration was carried out jointly by the Moscow Department of Finance, the Bank of Russia Main Directorate for the Central Federal District and the Federal Tax Service Administration for Moscow. The electric train turned out to be bright and colorful: blue and green colors were chosen for it, which together gave a luxurious turquoise hue, so that the train looked like an azure jet of water.

But the main thing, of course, is not the color, but the content. A detailed description of 27 situations or, as they say now, cases, was placed on the walls of the cars. Of these, 15 are dedicated to scammers, and 12 to taxes.

“For this train, we selected exactly those appeals and questions that people most often send to the portal of the Mayor of Moscow and the website of the Bank of Russia,” explained Nadezhda Ivanova, head of the Bank of Russia Main Directorate for the Central Federal District. – We paid special attention to how to identify various fraudulent schemes and how to behave if various financial scammers are trying to deceive, by what signs to recognize a financial pyramid. And also where to go if you become a victim of scammers.

The top panels contain various questions. Among them there are quite simple ones, for example, where the World map works. There is more difficult: how to get a tax deduction for education or for sports services. And there are complex ones. For example, this one: “We want to sell an apartment that we have owned for two years, but the purchase documents have not been preserved. Is it possible to get a tax deduction in this case?

Do you want to become self-employed? Or learn how to protect yourself from scammers? What to do if the bank’s license was revoked? How to get credit holidays? How to use the fast payment system? Answers to these and many other questions can be obtained during just one run between metro stations. Each wagon of the themed train carries its own set of questions.

Moreover, the information is not limited to short texts in the car. On the sides of each door are QR codes that lead to verified sites – this is either the website of the Bank of Russia or the website of the Department of Finance. There is also a link to the telegram channel of the Department of Finance with the text: “pump the fingram into Telegram”.

“In the modern world, the volume of financial information is constantly growing,” said Elena Zyabbarova, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Finance. — But in order to comprehend and assimilate it, people often do not have enough time or knowledge. Therefore, the need for reliable, reliable sources of information is very, very great. This is exactly what leading experts in the field of finance took care of when creating the content of this train. These tips will help people manage and protect their finances more effectively. The information blocks of the train are designed in such a way that both simple and complex topics are understandable to everyone.

The financial literacy train will run along the Sokolnicheskaya line until mid-summer next year. However, let’s hope that the topic will continue, and it will be possible to get acquainted with the basic laws of the financial alphabet on other branches of the Moscow metro. In the end, the launch of themed trains has already become a good tradition in the metropolitan metro. Since the beginning of the year, 11 electric trains have been produced on a variety of topics.
