“I consider myself one hundred percent to blame for her impulsive act. We had a conflict. Household, absolutely unrelated to sports. After a long conversation, I outlined to Alina my position regarding her living with me and my guardianship over her. She said that she was not ready to bear responsibility for her life and health if certain rules were not followed,” Fedchenko shared.
According to her, she suggested that Alina continue training at the academy, but live with one of her relatives or rent a separate apartment. It was after this conversation that the girl did not go on the ice.
Fedchenko emphasized that she and her pupil always had complete trust and she was not going to control Alina’s every step. She also said that at the age of 16, teenagers “have hormones, puberty, and want to do everything their own way.” Fedchenko noted that she has been “raising Alina since she was 12 years old,” and “the education process is very difficult.” Alina “impulsively” ran away, and a couple of hours later, when her emotions subsided, she was afraid that now the coach would definitely not agree to answer for her, Fedchenko claims.
