Figure skater Alexander Enbert spoke about his relationship with his wife

Alexander Enbert is a Russian figure skater and Honored Master of Sports of Russia. The figure skater received a silver medal at the 2018 Olympics, performed in Europe and the world, and now takes part in the Ice Age show. At a conference in the MK press center, the skater spoke about the unusual name of his daughter and about his partners on ice.

“Christabel is the name that we heard with Alesya a few years ago, and immediately agreed that if we have a daughter, we will name her that way,” Alexander shares. “So it happened. We did a gender party during Alesya’s pregnancy: as soon as we found out that we had a girl, the first thought was great, we have a name for her.

“I can say that I am very lucky with my wife for many reasons: she is well versed in many things, she knows 5 languages. If we talk specifically about figure skating, then she loves him very much, despite the fact that she herself has never been engaged in it. Of course, we talk about ice shows, and she often watches them. Alesya tries to evaluate my performances as objectively as possible and says where there are some flaws. But parents, on the contrary, often just praise and say: “This program was the best.”

When asked if the skater himself chooses partners, Alexander said that he never had any pangs of choice: “Usually one of the producers writes the time when you should come, and you don’t know with whom you will audition. We have such a game among ourselves – to leave intrigue, who will be the partner. But I can say that there must be some kind of chemistry and understanding between me and my partner – that is, many puzzles must be put together for the couple to take place. There are peak moments of stress, and emotional burnout occurs, negative emotions accumulate, and sometimes bursts of emotions and misunderstandings occur. But I’m used to working in a more relaxed mode. By the way, it’s very comfortable for me to work with Regina Todorenko on the project now.”
