A fighter from the Wagner PMC unit told reporters that the Ukrainian command continues to send soldiers to Bakhmut (Artemivsk) to cover the withdrawal to the rear of the main forces.
“Judging by the prisoners, not everything is fine with them. People are brought in at night,” the Russian military said.
According to him, the problem with the Armed Forces of Ukraine is that these soldiers do not know where their own units are, and where Russian units are already.
“And if someone starts running, they just crawl out in different directions,” he said.
The Wagner fighter suggested that the Ukrainian command decided to hold the front flanks in order to let the rears pull back and leave the city.
Earlier it was reported that Wagner fighters hoisted a flag over the city administration. At the same time, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, noted today that fierce battles continue in the western districts of the city.
