The Canadian singer who provided the first part of the group, announced to withdraw from the tour due to accusations of “inappropriate behavior” against the frontman of the indie rock band.

“The best way to take care of my band, my team and my family is to distance myself from this tour.” Canadian singer Leslie Feist, known as Feistannounced on his social networks to leave the tour of the group Arcade Fire, started on Tuesday August 30 in Dublin for which she provided the first part. The move comes days after the lead singer of the Canadian rock band, Win Butler, faced charges of sexual assault and “inappropriate behavior” by several people.

“In a pub in Dublin, after rehearsing with my band, I read the same title as you”says the 46-year-old artist in a long letter. “It was incredibly difficult for me and I can only imagine how much more difficult it was for the people who spoke out. More than anything, I wish healing to those involved.” she continues.

Four people have indeed testified to the music site pitchfork. They denounce facts that allegedly took place between 2015 and 2020. The singer confirmed having had sex with the four people who make these allegations, but claims that they were consenting.

Leslie Feist explains that she had a long reflection on these testimonies. “To stay on tour would symbolize that I am defending or ignoring the harm caused by Win Butler and to leave would imply that I am judge and jury”, she confided on Instagram. At the end of this reflection, the artist finally made the decision to leave the Arcade Fire tour in which she participated: “I am imperfect and I will make this decision imperfectly, but what I know for sure is that the best way to take care of my band, my team and my family is to distance myself from this tour, and no of this debate.”
