Midfielder of the English football club “Manchester City” Jack Grealish signed one of the largest in world football, let’s say, shoe contracts. Grealish has entered into a five-year deal with German manufacturer Puma and will play with the company’s boots for the next five years. In return, Grealish will receive £10 million (€11.26 million) a year (note that Grealish has worn Nike boots throughout his career). It is reported by The Athletic and Daily Mail.
This is the largest contract of its kind in the history of English football, and the income that it will bring to the player is comparable to his salary. Grealish is under contract with Manchester United to earn £15.6m (€17.5m) per season. In the top 10 deals of this kind, Grealish now ranks fifth, second only to the superheroes of modern football. And three of them play for PSG.
The leader in the ranking is Parisian forward Neymar, whose contract with the same Puma brings €26 million a year. Next comes another Parisian striker – Lionel Messi (Adidas, € 20 million), followed by Cristiano Ronaldo (Nike, € 17 million), who has recently played for the Saudi An-Nasr, fourth place is occupied by another PSG striker – Kilian Icon (Nike, €15.7 million).
We add that in the above five, changes may soon occur. Adidas and Nike are currently battling to include Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in their portfolio. The contract with him will clearly be measured by an eight-digit number.
