Former Russian mixed martial arts fighter Fedor Emelianenko said that he could fight according to boxing rules with former world boxing champion American Mike Tyson.

“The fight will be according to boxing rules. I don’t think it will be straight 12 rounds; the rules of our fight will still be discussed. There is already agreement on both sides, but there must be funding,” said Fedor Emelianenko in podcast blogger Sergei Lodyga.

According to Emelianenko, a series of negotiations have already taken place regarding the fight. According to preliminary data, the fight may take place in Saudi Arabia, the timing of which is unknown. The Russian fighter noted that the main issue is finding funding and partners who will help organize the fight.

Mike Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005. Fedor Emelianenko announced his retirement from professional MMA in February 2023, but did not rule out the possibility of holding several more exhibition fights in the future.
