The decision to introduce a federal emergency situation (ES) in the Primorsky Territory was made today at a meeting of the government commission for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety, chaired by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Viktor Yatsutsenko. This was announced by the Governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako.
“The federal level of response has been introduced. This will allow the region to more quickly receive assistance from the federal center, including financial assistance to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster,” wrote the head of Primorye in Telegram channel.
According to Mr. Kozhemyako, heavy rains that have continued over the past two weeks have led to floods that have affected agriculture and road infrastructure, social facilities and residential buildings (more than 5 thousand households). The total damage from the elements of the authorities of Primorye is tentatively estimated at 7 billion rubles.
“Primorsky Krai is critically in need of the speedy restoration of infrastructure facilities in order to ensure the livelihoods of the affected population, those payments that our citizens need in order to purchase the necessary furniture, bedding, clothes directly by winter,”— declared Governor Kozhemyako.
Recall that from August 10 to 12, Typhoon Hanoun raged in Primorye. Heavy rains hit the region, causing floods. About 4.6 thousand residential buildings were flooded. In Ussuriysk, a dam broke through, which was built to contain floods, the TFR opened a criminal case on the fact of a dam break. As a result of flooding in the region died six persons.
