Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office check the formation of prices for air tickets – Kommersant

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, its regional branches, as well as the Prosecutor General’s Office began checking the formation of prices for air tickets by Russian airlines and airports. This was reported in the press service of the FAS. In case of signs of violation of the antimonopoly law, the FAS promised to take action.

“The departments check the formation by carriers of prices for air tickets, as well as the establishment and application of tariffs and fees for servicing aircraft at airports,” the FAS said in a statement.

Inspections are carried out in Moscow, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Perm, Primorsky and Trans-Baikal Territories, Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Orenburg and Vologda regions, the Khanty-Mansiysk district and the republics of Tatarstan, Komi and Mordovia.

Earlier today, Vitaly Vantsev, co-owner of Vnukovo and Azimut Airlines, suggested that the cost of air tickets for flights within Russia this year could increase by 15-20%, and for foreign flights by 40%. At the same time, Deputy Minister of Transport Igor Chalik didn’t see reasons for such an increase in air travel prices. He acknowledged a slight increase in ticket prices over the five months of this year – but not significant. According to him, the growth was 6.2%, or 420 rubles.
