On May 27, the third round of the Far Eastern Youth Football League began. Sakhalin at the Spartak stadium hosted FC Blagoveshchensk, the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region reported.

In the U16 tournament, the opponents had previously gone in parallel courses. In the first round, the islanders played a draw at home with Vulkan (1:1), and Blagoveshchensk showed the same result in Komsomolsk-on-Amur against SShOR No. 2. In the second round, Sakhalin scored seven unanswered goals against Belogorets, and Blagoveshchensk took away three points from Nakhodka thanks to a goal by Semyon Gavrilov (1:0). However, the course of the match showed that the opponents are in different “weight categories”.

On the 19th minute Vladislav Beltyukov from Sakhalin opened the scoring. He scored with a direct kick from a corner, spinning the ball straight into the near corner. No sooner had the guests come to their senses than another misfortune came to them. On 21 minutes Alexey Kiriyenko doubled the advantage of the islanders. He succeeded in a powerful blow from 15 meters. And ten minutes later, Vladislav Smirnov brought the score to a large one (3:0), jumping above all the guests in the penalty area after filing from the flank.

In the second half, Timofey Savenkov rushed by train along the left flank and stuck the ball into the corner to the right of the goalkeeper – 4:0. Until the end of the game, the score has not changed. Sakhalin kept a clean sheet for the second time in a row, while Blagoveshchensk conceded more than one goal for the first time and lost.

In the U18 tournament, Blagoveshchensk won in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (3:1) and drew in Nakhodka (2:2), while Sakhalin was the sole leader (victories over Vulkan 6:2, Belogorets 13: 0). The Sakhalin footballers failed to extend the winning streak. Already in the third minute, the home team found themselves in an unusual role for themselves to recoup.

In a viscous struggle in the center of the field, the Sakhalin defender played unsuccessfully with his head. The ball was picked up by the Blagoveshchensk forward. He jumped out one on one with the goalkeeper and drove the ball into the net from the penalty line. Despite all efforts, in the first half the islanders could not recoup. And at the beginning of the second half of the game they conceded again. After a flank attack, the guests’ player literally shot Sakhalin’s goal – 0:2.

A few minutes later, Kirill Yu, who hit almost point-blank, could close the gap. However, the Blagoveshchensk goalkeeper miraculously saved the goal. In the 89th minute Alexander Romodanov from Sakhalin scored a goal (1:2), but the team failed to score one more – before a draw. The match ended with a minimal defeat for Sakhalin, which lost for the first time in the season.
