The Barcelona football club is threatened with relegation or even liquidation if the organization’s guilt in a corruption case is proven, according to La Vanguardia.
The club will be found guilty if allegations of payments are proven in payments to former vice president of the technical refereeing committee, José María Enriquez Negreira. Barça will only be found guilty if it can be proven that Negreira’s payments were intended to secure refereeing for the club. Otherwise, the case will be closed.
The report states that the most likely punishment is a fine, but demotion or liquidation is also a possibility.
