FBI arrests suspect in Pentagon leak

The Fox News channel reported, citing the FBI, that a suspect was arrested in the United States in the leak of classified Pentagon materials, which contained an assessment of the state of Ukrainian troops.
The FBI said in a statement that the agency is conducting authorized law enforcement activities at the suspect’s residence in North Dayton, Massachusetts.
Earlier, The New York Times wrote that the suspect is 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, who serves as a pilot in the 102nd Reconnaissance Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. He was the leader of the online chat group Thug Shaker Central, where hundreds of classified military intelligence documents were uploaded.
Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said today that the leak was a “deliberate criminal act.”
