One Briton shared his impressions of standing in line of people waiting in line to see the late Queen. He had to wait 9 hours. As a result, he got the impression that the mourners were “treated like animals”: several people were knocked over in a stampede, and fainting cases occurred almost every 5 minutes.
Another person in line said that during a security check, volunteer scouts confiscated all the liquid, leaving the mourners without water. Toilets for those standing in line were also not provided.
“I thought there would be a riot at some point. We waited several hours without food or water. The way we were treated was just monstrous,” said the Briton.
Earlier, the British government warned in social networks that the waiting time in line could be up to a day.
Farewell to Elizabeth II takes place in the center of London at Westminster Hall, the funeral will take place on September 19. Elizabeth II died on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was 96 years old. Her eldest son Charles became the new British monarch, Charles III.
