Family members of 13 miners recognized as having died under rock rubble at the Pioneer mine in the Amur Region will be paid financial assistance in the amount of their annual earnings. Payments will begin today, April 1, according to the mine operator JSC Pokrovsky Mine.

On March 18, in the Zeya district of the Amur region, a rock collapsed at the mine of the Pioneer mining and hydrometallurgical plant. 13 miners remained at a depth of 125 meters; they have not been in contact since the incident. A state of emergency was introduced in the region, a case was initiated under Art. 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety requirements during work). The managing director of Pioneer, Alexey Biryukov, was arrested in this case. Also in the region detained two employees of Rostekhnadzor.
