The social network Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) is testing a new feature, thanks to which users will be able to correspond with private messages without leaving the application. About this in blog the company said the head of the social network Tom Alison.
In 2014, Facebook separated the ability to exchange private messages from the application into a separate Messenger service. At the time, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said that this was done to provide users with a better experience. The return of in-person messaging to the Facebook app is likely a response to increased competition from TikTok, a short-form video service that offers an easier way to communicate.
At the moment, it is not clear when Facebook will launch the new feature. Facebook also announced that more than 2 billion people use the social network daily – this is a new record for the company.
