American corporation Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) launched a new paid subscription, thanks to which you can get rid of advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The subscription is valid only in the European Union and costs €9.99 for the web version and €12.99 for mobile applications.

Meta decided to launch a new type of subscription in response to European legislation, according to which users must be given the opportunity to use services either for free, but with advertising, or without advertising, but for money. The company believes that the introduction of a new subscription will allow it to meet the requirements of the European Union. Meta also noted that no one will force users to switch to a paid subscription; a free version with advertising will remain.

Previously, the number of users of the Meta-owned microblogging service Threads reached 100 million per month. Instagram also started test a new news feed, which will consist only of publications from verified users.
