Extreme cyclists staged a race in the Polar Urals

The winners of the Arctic Bike Trail cycling race, which was held for the third time in the YaNAO near the Rai-Iz massif in the Polar Urals, have become known. This was announced on July 24 by the press service of the Governor of Yamal.
More than a hundred cyclists from all over the country took part in the competition. Amateurs had to go 26 kilometers, professionals – 40.
Streams, puddles, ford rivers – the cyclists did not have to be bored. It is no coincidence that doctors were on duty throughout the route during the cycling race.
“We see a growing interest in the Arctic cycling race: this year the participants took out all the slots just two weeks after the start of registration. Athletes came to us not only from all over Yamal, but also from Ukhta, Vorkuta, Omsk, Kirov and even Serebryansk. More than 30 volunteers were involved in the organization. Safety on the track was provided by the Yamalspas team. Quad cyclists cruised along the route, who, if necessary, helped the athletes, ”the head of the VeloYamal cycling club, Gulnar Galimova, rocked.
Margarita Laptander from Salekhard became the best among amateurs. The first among men was Oleg Tasimov from the same city. Aleksandra Shardakova (Salekhard) and Egor Veryaskin (Nadym) won respectively in the Pro category among women and men.
The VeloYamal club organizes the Arctic cycling race with the support of the YNAO Regional Tourism Development Agency. This solves the tasks of the national project “Tourism and hospitality industry”.
Recall that last week in Salekhard the club “VeloYamal” donated small northerners 10 bicycles.
