Edition Expressreferring to the report of the Red Cross, reported that some residents of Britain are exploiting and driving into “debt bondage” refugees from Ukraine, whom they themselves had previously sheltered.
According to the media, Red Cross specialists witnessed that Ukrainian refugees were forced to work for free for a landlord.
“In exchange, refugees from Ukraine were provided with housing. Among other things, they repeatedly observed how people were driven into “debt bondage,” the newspaper notes.
At the same time, some residents of the UK paid for accommodation and relocation to Ukrainians, and then demanded that they work at home or at any of their enterprises. Ukrainian children were also involved in such work. They worked instead of going to school.
The organization noted that there are few such cases, but still they have a place to be.
