Export of Russian agribusiness products increased by 12%

Deliveries of Russian agricultural products and foodstuffs abroad in 2022 increased by 12% at current prices, they said during the meetings with Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture Sergei Levin.

“Despite all the difficulties faced by Russian companies last year, exports at current prices showed an increase of about 12%. More than 70 million tons of domestic agricultural products and food were sent to foreign markets,” the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.

The largest increase in the value contribution of exports was provided by the Volgograd and Sakhalin regions, Primorsky, Kamchatka and Altai territories, as well as the Republics of North Ossetia-Alania and Dagestan.

The work carried out in 2022 to reorient export flows led to the emergence of more than 3,000 new regional product-country pairs with a total value of $1.46 billion, which have not been in the structure of regional exports over the past five years.

As previously reported, the grain harvest in Russia in 2022 made up 153.8 Mt net weight, up 26.69% from 2021 results (121.4 Mt). In 2020, Russian farmers harvested 133.5 million tons of grain.

The wheat harvest immediately increased by more than 37%: from 76.1 million tons in 2021 to 104.43 million tons in 2022. The harvest of rye increased from 1.7 million tons to 2.2 million tons, winter barley – from 2.9 million tons to 3.2 million tons, spring – from 15.1 million tons to 20.3 million tons.
