Chief Researcher, NRC Gamalei Anatoly Altshtein believes that at the peak of a new wave of coronavirus in Russia, the incidence is unlikely to exceed 200 thousand new cases daily, as it was this winter. According to him, this figure will be approximately 45-50 thousand new cases. Infectious disease doctor Nikolai Malyshev said that the peak of the incidence will coincide with the beginning of the school year.
“I think that there should not be more than 200 thousand cases per day, as it was in winter, most likely about 45-50 thousand,” Mr. Altstein said in a conversation with RIA Novosti. It is still difficult to make accurate forecasts, he added.
“Now there will be an increase (in the incidence of coronavirus.— “b”) and the peak will be at the beginning of the school year, at the end of the holidays, when people will go to work,” warned Nikolai Malyshev.
