Experts named the most scarce professions in Russia

In what areas is there a shortage of personnel? Are employee salaries going up today? Experts spoke about this and many other things in the MK press center.

“We have a fairly high turnover of labor, people come and go,” says Alexander Safonov, Doctor of Economics, Professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. – Now the view of older workers has changed: if in 2010 the point of ageism was fixed at the age of 40, today employers consider a greater number of resumes – the indicators have shifted to 55 years. Another aspect is wage growth. If in 2019 the average salary in construction was about 40 thousand rubles, today it starts at 60 thousand. It is clear that this is not the ultimate dream, but the growth is noticeable.”

Aleksey Zubets, director of the Center for Socio-Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, believes that the outflow of Russian employees abroad had little effect on the unemployment rate: “At first, a small number of people left, about 500 thousand people, some of whom have already returned. That is, the loss of labor due to the outflow is approximately 100-200 thousand people. Many who left could not find a job in the West, and some of them continue to work for Russian employers directly or indirectly. Today, the most in demand are employees who can be put to the machine for production. The second need is low command personnel, in other words, foremen. Another shortage is the lack of cleaners, and, strangely enough, couriers. Especially in large cities, the demand for courier labor is not falling and even growing. There is also a demand for drivers and welders.”
