People see exactly what their money is spent on – transport is developing, the ticket system is improving, – Director of the Academy “Higher Engineering School” RUT (MIIT) Oleg Pokusaev commented on the adjustment of fares in Moscow’s public transport.
“Moscow Transport was a source of good news regarding tariffs for 2023. Fares will be indexed well below the rate of inflation. It should be noted that throughout this year, the Department of Transport of Moscow has simplified the lives of a huge number of passengers and made the use of public transport more convenient,” the expert said.
He noted several obvious new amenities. For example, all unlimited tickets for 30, 90 and 365 days can now be activated within 10 days of purchase. The second important innovation of this year is the change in the validity period of students’ social cards. In addition, now passengers can make free transfers between all ground transport routes within 90 minutes. Recall that earlier free transfers worked only between different ground transport routes.
“I think that the adjustment of tariffs will not affect the attitude of city residents to transport. People see exactly what their money is spent on – transport is developing, the ticket system is being improved. Pleasant conditions are being created for the use of public transport and the refusal to travel by private car,” Pokusaev said.
