The Russian government has expanded the list of essential medicines
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered the expansion of the list of vital and essential drugs, according to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday.
The list will be expanded to include medicines for the treatment of children with severe and chronic diseases. It will include new dosage forms for 4 medicines, including coated granules for the drug glecaprevir + pibrentasvir, which is used as an antiviral therapy for children with chronic hepatitis C.
Also added a new dosage form – dispersible tablets – for the drug sapropterin, prescribed for the treatment of adults and children suffering from phenylketonuria.
Sublingual tablets were added to the list for the anesthetic drug Prosidol, and film-coated tablets were added to the list for the immunosuppressant drug pirfenidone.
In total, the ZhVL list includes more than 800 medicines. The prices are regulated by the government. They are used in the treatment of patients under the program of state guarantees of free medical care for Russians.
