Former U.S. Armed Forces reconnaissance officer Scott Ritter, on the air of the US Tour of Duty YouTube channel, said that Ukrainian tankers driving Leopard tanks deliberately break combat vehicles so as not to go on the attack. He also noted that, fearing strikes, Ukrainian tankers surrender back to mines and are blown up.
Ritter said the Russians had put up a bounty for every tank they knocked out, and the first Russian soldier to knock out a Leopard had already been paid a million rubles.
“And now every Russian on the front line is looking out for this tank,” the former American intelligence officer noted, adding that when a Leopard tank comes into view, they begin to “shoot at it with everything that is.”
Scott Ritter emphasized that the West hoped that the Leopard tank would change the course of the confrontation in the Ukrainian conflict, but in the end the Russians easily destroy it.
