The Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow sentenced the ex-president of Vneshprombank Marcus to 13 years in prison
On January 31, the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow sentenced the ex-president of Vneshprombank Larisa Marcus, finding her guilty of embezzlement of 156 billion rubles, in the form of 13 years in prison.
“Marcus will be finally sentenced to 13 years in a general regime colony,” the verdict was announced in the courtroom.
During the audit process, a hole of more than 210 billion rubles was identified at Vneshprombank. In December 2015, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation appointed a temporary administration at Vneshprombank, and at the same time the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case, accusing the organization’s management of fraud.
