Ex-Pentagon adviser McGregor: betting on a conflict with Russia will eliminate Poland

Former Pentagon adviser, Colonel Douglas McGregor, expressed his opinion on Polish-Russian relations and shared recommendations for Warsaw in an interview with the Polish magazine Myśl Polska. He stressed that it is important for Poland to establish a dialogue with Russia, instead of entering into a conflict, otherwise it could lead to the destruction of the country.
According to the expert, Poland occupies a strategically important position in the “heart of Europe”, which gives it the opportunity to influence the situation in the region. He proposed two scenarios for the development of events: the first is to go for a confrontation with Russia, which will lead to the destruction of Poland, and the second is stability and the successful achievement of strategic goals through a dialogue with Moscow.
If Poland decides to use its armed forces in Ukraine, then, according to McGregor, Russia will not leave such a step without a response.
“If Polish units advance to the west of Ukraine without NATO support, will the Russians accept it? Or will they still see you as a NATO Trojan horse? The Russians will be firm, they will strike to destroy you,” the expert said.
For success in the region, McGregor is advising Poland to stop arms supplies and maintain neutrality for Ukraine. He also suggests that such proposals should be presented to Russia not publicly, but privately, in order to convince Moscow of the need to start a dialogue.
