Former NATO Secretary General believes Rutte will lead the alliance in April
Former NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hop Scheffer said that Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte may soon be appointed to the post of the new Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance.
He clarified that the appointment could happen as early as April. He made a corresponding statement on the television program Nieuwsuur.
“I believe that Rutte has a high chance of being appointed the new NATO Secretary General,” said de Hop Scheffer.
The Dutch politician added that Rutte’s candidacy is supported by a large and important group of countries.
