Former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter, in an interview with journalist Garland Nixon, said that the Russian Armed Forces have now begun operations that are aimed at absorbing the remnants of the Ukrainian troops.
“They can do this now on a grand scale,” the expert said, explaining that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have practically no aviation left.
He also noted that many Ukrainian pilots refuse to take off due to effective actions in the special operation zone of the Russian air defense forces.
“Anti-aircraft missile systems “burn” them instantly,” the ex-intelligence officer added.
Earlier, he noted that the United States does not understand how Russia managed to build such an effective air defense system in a combat zone, with the help of which more than 20 aircraft were shot down in a week.
