Ex-GRU Colonel Kvachkov fined 50 thousand rubles for discrediting the army

The Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow fined former GRU colonel Vladimir Kvachkov 50 thousand rubles. for discrediting the Russian armed forces (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

“By the decision of the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow, Kvachkov was found guilty of committing an administrative violation, he was given a fine of 50 thousand rubles,” reported the joint press service ships.

Administrative case was registered in court on December 4.

Vladimir Kvachkov has already was fined for 40 thousand rubles. for a similar offense on August 15. Then the reason was three posts with a photo and text that were published on the Odnoklassniki social network in the group “Vladimir Vasilyevich Kvachkov” with 21 thousand subscribers. According to the police, Vladimir Kvachkov has been the administrator of the resource since 2019. The ex-colonel himself claimed that he did not have access to this group and learned about its existence from the police.

The retired colonel became famous in 2005 after he was detained in the case of an assassination attempt on the then head of RAO UES Anatoly Chubais. The jury twice found the ex-colonel and his alleged accomplices innocent. In 2013, Vladimir Kvachkov was sentenced to 13 years in prison for preparing an armed rebellion. The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation reduced this period to eight years. While serving his sentence, Vladimir Kvachkov was sentenced to another year and a half for posting an extremist video online. A retired GRU colonel was released in 2019.
