Olga Yarilova was sent into custody for abuse
The Basmanny Court of Moscow sent Olga Yarilova, former Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, under arrest. She has been charged with abuse of power.
According to the press service of the court, she was arrested until June 16. Yarilova’s defense insisted on house arrest. If the guilt of the official is proven, she faces imprisonment for up to 10 years.
So far, there is no official information about what exactly the crime was and what damage was done to the state.
Position of Deputy Minister Olga Yarilova occupied since 2018. In 2022, she left her of her own free will. An official was detained as part of a case of embezzlement of more than 200 million rubles with participation in the Pushkin Map project.
Investigators found that three attackers used fictitious cards. They deceived the employees of Post Bank and the Ministry of Culture. The suspects organized a mass purchase of tickets for events that were not held.
