Starikov: Russia attacked Western weapons at Ukrainian air bases
Retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov commented on the YouTube channel “Yes, that’s true” about Russia’s massive missile strike on military targets in Ukraine.
He explained that during military operations, the key tasks are always the destruction of enemy weapons depots and the destruction of air defenses. According to him, this is what the Russian army is doing.
“Daggers and Iskanders are aimed at undermining particularly important objects,” Starikov continued, adding that these missiles of the Russian Armed Forces attack Ukrainian air defense systems, such as Patriot. At the same time, the colonel noted, a missile worth two million dollars can destroy a complex that costs billions.
“With the help of an air operation, they achieved that they rebooted our air defense system,” explained the Ukrainian expert, adding that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had to fire expensive missiles at cheap targets.
At the same time, most of the attacks hit air bases where NATO weapons were stored, Starikov emphasized, noting that the Ukrainian air defense system cannot withstand such attacks due to the limited number of systems and missiles.
