Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder called the idea of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to return Crimea with weapons crazy.
Earlier, Zelensky promised that Ukraine would return by military means the lost territories of Kharkiv, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as the territories of the DPR and LPR and Crimea. According to the statement of the President of Ukraine, there are also plans to return the waters of the Black and Azov Seas to the Kerch Strait.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper ABC, Schroeder said that such statements are meaningless.
“This is nonsense,” the ex-chancellor said, commenting on the plans announced by Zelensky.
The former German chancellor also recalled how Crimea ended up as part of Ukraine.
Previously, Schroeder in Germany was accused of “connections with Russia” and deprived of the special rights due to the ex-chancellor, in particular, the right to have an office with employees. Schroeder challenged this decision in court, filing a lawsuit against the Bundestag.
