The Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev has been included in the federal organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the Years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports in 2022 and 2023. The corresponding order was signed by the chairman of the federal government, Mikhail Mishustin.
The organizing committee was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko. In total, it consists of 22 people. The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation is entrusted with organizational and technical support.
Earlier, MK-Ural reported that In October, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding the Years of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Sports in 2022 and 2023. One of the events is the International University Sports Festival in Yekaterinburg with the participation of teams from the BRICS, SCO and CIS countries.
“The Games will be held in August 2023, in the midst of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Yekaterinburg. I hope that the holiday will turn out to be no worse than during the World Cup, which we all remember with pleasure,” said Evgeny Kuyvashev, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The International University Sports Festival is scheduled for August 19-31. It will be held in 15 disciplines.
The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region reported that a preliminary list of educational institutions that could become participants in the festival had already been prepared. It includes 246 universities from 94 countries of the world, 23 higher educational institutions are located in Russia.
