Every third Russian believes that the Russian Orthodox Church interferes too actively in the affairs of the state and society

Almost half of Russians (45%) believe that the Orthodox Church should influence the spiritual life of the entire society, but not interfere in politics and state affairs, showed interview VCIOM. Every third (33%) thinks that it should deal exclusively with the problems of faith and religion, without interfering in the life of society and the state. Only 13% of respondents said that the ROC could interfere in the discussion and solution of the problems of modern society and the state.
In fact, according to a third of the respondents, the Orthodox Church today is too actively involved in the life of society and the affairs of the state. The share of those who share this position has increased significantly over the past ten years – by 12 percentage points at once. Only 12% of respondents complain about the insufficient interference of the Russian Orthodox Church in the affairs of the state and society, which is two times less than in 2012.
