The region spoke about the importance of passing medical examinations

According to the portal of state bodies of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, every fifth resident of the district is involved in some kind of sport. Competitions are constantly held, requiring the organization of the provision of emergency, primary health care and specialized medical care. This work in the region is carried out by the Department of Sports Medicine on the basis of the Nenets Regional Hospital.

The head of the children’s polyclinic Alexander Kovyazin, who oversees the direction of sports medicine, spoke about the importance of undergoing medical examinations for playing sports.

— Sports medicine is a branch of medicine that studies the health, physical development and functional capabilities of a person in connection with sports and physical education. The practical section of sports medicine is medical control over those involved, medical support for classes and competitions. The object of sports medicine is a person with all the complexity of his body, psyche, reactivity, relationships with the environment. The effectiveness of the training process largely depends on the degree of compliance of the means and methods of the pedagogical process used with the state of health, physical development, functionality, age and individual characteristics of each person involved in physical culture or sports, the doctor explained.

A medical examination makes it possible to assess the state of human health, to identify pathological conditions that are contraindications for sports or certain sports. Sometimes these may be contraindications for individual exercises.

The specialist drew attention to the fact that the lack of medical supervision can disregard the characteristics of the body or disease, without which not only the effectiveness of classes and especially sports training decreases, but the development of various pathological conditions, complications of background diseases, a decrease in sportsmanship or a reduction in sports longevity is not excluded. .

As Alexander Kovyazin explained, a coach and teacher of physical education should be able to use physical exercises to improve health and proper development of a person, prevent diseases, maintain the health of an athlete even in the most intense training, which is an important condition for achieving high sports results, performance and longevity.

Constant active monitoring of athletes makes it possible to timely identify the earliest health disorders, conduct appropriate treatment and rehabilitation, monitor the dynamics of the functional state and fitness. If necessary, the athlete is sent for examination or treatment outside the district.

The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has established that a person who plays sports professionally is required to undergo an in-depth medical examination 2 times a year, and a person involved in sports and preparatory or elementary training must undergo an in-depth medical examination once a year. At the same time, for each stage of sports training, its own volume of medical examination is determined.
