“Evenings on the Farm” took to the ice – Kommersant

Last weekend, at the Megasport Ice Palace, with the assistance of Rosneft and Sber, who acted as the title and general partners of the project, the premiere of the show “Evenings on the Farm” based on Gogol’s stories took place. The love story of the blacksmith Vakula for the beautiful Oksana, familiar to everyone since childhood, turned into a holiday on ice with folk festivities, fortune telling, dancing, songs, jokes, mystical events and bright national flavor. The leading roles of the New Year’s premiere were stars of world figure skating, multiple champions of Russia, Europe and the world, Olympic champions: Tatiana Navka (as Catherine II), Pyotr Chernyshev (Prince Potemkin), Anna Shcherbakova (Odarka), Victoria Sinitsina (Oksana), Nikita Katsalapov (blacksmith Vakula), Margarita Drobyazko (Solokha), Povilas Vanagas (devil). The musical parts were voiced by Philip Kirkorov, Ani Lorak, Alexander Panayotov, Grigory Leps, Jasmine, Larisa Dolina. Konstantin Khabensky gave his voice to the author, Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol, and Tatyana Navka voiced Empress Catherine II.

“Evenings on the Farm” is a multimedia ice show at the intersection of modern technology and classical art. The performers demonstrated the highest level of figure skating, modern choreography, exciting elements of acrobatics and circus art. A unique musical atmosphere was created by live vocals performed by the folk ensemble of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. During the performance, the artists immerse the viewer in the world of Little Russian songs. “Evenings on the Farm” will be on display until January 7. “Kommersant Style” acts as an information partner of Tatiana Navka’s show.
