Europe’s “Gardens of Eden” are turning into a dark and cold jungle

Without Russian natural resources, the stable existence of the world economy is impossible
Last week, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, painted a black and white picture of the world. He said, “Europe is a garden… Most of the rest of the world is jungle.” Further, the Spaniard Borrell called the Europeans “privileged people”, from which it follows that, in his opinion, the remaining billions of people live in the “jungle” and are savages. At the same time, grandfather Borrell revealed the secret of Europe’s recent prosperity, saying: “Our prosperity is based on cheap energy coming from Russia.” The chief European diplomat could continue this thought, noting, for example, how predators from his European Union, violating the terms of the “grain deal”, export millions of tons of cheap grain from Ukraine to their bins, and not to the starving countries of Africa and Asia. At the end of this year, the next 27th UN Conference on Climate Change is to be held in Egypt, at which, I believe, nothing will be heard except for complaints and lamentations. If in recent years the European Union, to the delight of all the “greens”, has significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously growing the economy, this year the process of the European energy transition has turned in the opposite direction. The reduction in gas supplies from Russia and the destruction by terrorists of three strings of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 offshore gas pipelines are forcing Europeans to return to the active use of fossil fuels. By the way, as a result of the organized sabotage, about 750 thousand tons of the strongest greenhouse gas, methane, were thrown into the atmosphere.
The European Union, as the main fighter against coal-fired generation of heat and electricity, begins the heating season by re-heating mothballed coal-fired boilers. This winter, Europeans will heat stoves with coal and scarce firewood, prices for which have jumped three to four times. Western countries at once started talking about the impossibility of realizing their obligations to ensure “carbon neutrality” and the impossibility of achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement by 2050. A year ago, at the summit in Glasgow, the European Union criticized African countries for using coal, and today it is actively buying millions of tons of this “dirty fuel” from the Republic of South Africa.
There is practically no natural gas in Europe, and they are forced to buy the 412 billion cubic meters a year they need for a comfortable life. In the face of gas shortages and exorbitant prices for it, EU leaders called on their members to jointly purchase gas to fill underground storage facilities and voluntarily reduce gas consumption by 15%. At the same time, Russian gas will not be available for purchase. In fact, the EU creates a cartel of consumers who are no longer satisfied with the laws of the market. The eighth package of anti-Russian sanctions introduces a price ceiling for Russian hydrocarbons. This is a bad option, with which many members of the European Union do not agree, but it seems to be the best among all other options. As for Russia, our country, of course, will not sell oil and gas at a loss.
As a result, Europe is forced to buy expensive American gas and move its industrial production to the US. French President Emmanuel Macron was outraged that his country pays four times more for US gas than the Americans themselves pay. Forecasts of European GDP growth tend to negative area, the rate of the European currency is falling sharply. This is exactly what the United States was striving for – in order to support its economy, which is increasingly slipping into crisis, at the expense of its weakening competitor. The dollar exchange rate against the ruble also fell sharply. These once strong world reserve currencies – the euro and the dollar – are significantly weakened by the parasitic Ukraine, which has been completely taken over by the United States and the European Union. We see how waves of popular protests rise on the streets of Rome, Paris, Berlin and other cities of Europe, which alternately endure inadequate prime ministers from their chairs. Unfortunately, the adequacy of these politicians comes only after their resignation.
And then, quite inopportunely for the United States, the decision of the OPEC + countries to reduce oil production by two million barrels per day arrived in time, which is why the prices of American gasoline crept up, and Joe Biden’s rating dived down. The US Department of Energy is forced to release an additional 10 million barrels from its oil reserves. The printing press continues to bubble up stock markets, real estate markets, and public debt markets, pushing back the deadlines for solving hard-to-fix problems. It seems that the blessed time is approaching when the US will not be able to solve its economic problems at the expense of the rest of the world.
After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, everything changes places: the “Gardens of Eden”, in which until recently 500 million Europeans lived, are gradually turning into a dark and cold jungle. Meanwhile, the friendly countries of Asia and the Arab world cooperating with Russia expect good economic growth rates in 2022: Saudi Arabia – by 7.5%, the United Arab Emirates – 5.4%, India – 6.2%, Iran – 3 .7%, outstripping the development of the self-satisfied West.
On the day the EU announced the eighth package of anti-Russian sanctions, an interstate agreement was prepared between Russia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which, in particular, provides for the supply of millions of tons of Russian hydrocarbons to Iran without any price ceilings. An international North-South transport corridor is developing through Iran and the Caspian, linking Russia with the countries of the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. At the initiative of Russia, work began on the creation of a large gas hub in Turkey, which will make up for the volumes of natural gas exports lost as a result of the sabotage at Nord Stream.
The Russian economy, under the conditions of the most severe blockade by the “collective West”, has withstood. At the same time, the future of Russia does not look pessimistic: energy export flows are being redistributed, new markets for grain and fertilizers are being formed, processing of raw materials is deepening on our territory, imports of a wide range of goods are being replaced, and a fundamentally new peaceful nuclear reactor based on fast neutrons is being built. While the US and EU countries are falling into recession, Russia is slowly getting out of it.
It becomes clear that in the context of the energy crisis that has flared up, the “green” climate agenda widely advertised by the West will be a failure. There is no forced refusal of the EU countries from coal, therefore, the achievement of the goals of the Paris Agreement will have to be postponed until at least 2060.
Panic in the global energy sector will continue until Russia’s special operation in Ukraine ends victoriously and until the West abandons suicidal sanctions against our country. Life shows that without Russian natural resources and without good relations with our country, the stable existence of the world economy is impossible.
