European countries may face a soybean shortage due to the adopted forest protection law. Analysts think so, citing data from the European Statistical Service and the World Bank.

As a result of the law on the protection of forests, the supply of products grown in deforestation areas was prohibited in the region. These include beef, palm oil, cocoa, soy and derivative products. Restrictions also apply to those products that are not certified as coming from sustainably managed lands.

Since the beginning of this year, the European Union (EU) has received €7.91 billion worth of goods from other countries where forests, soybeans, flour, oil and cake are declining.
