The European Union has become an “American reservation,” said Mikhail Sheremet, State Duma deputy from Crimea.
So the parliamentarian commented on the statement of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on sanctions against Russia. Earlier, she said that the United States and the EU began preparing sanctions long before the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
According to the parliamentarian, the EU has lost its sovereignty, and von der Leyen’s statement is “cynical”.
“The countries of the European Union have lost their former independence and today it is an American reservation, which is under strict supervision by the United States and NATO,” he said. At the same time, according to Sheremet, the SVO thwarted the plans of the Americans to collapse the Russian economy and the country as a whole.
The parliamentarian said that such a course of the EU harms the peoples of Europe, and under the influence of the United States, the European economy has ceased to be successful.
