The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg decided to lift the sanctions restrictions on the Russian entrepreneur, former CEO of Ozon Alexander Shulgin. RBC writes about it.
The EU imposed sanctions against businessman Shulgin in mid-spring 2022. Brussels then explained the decision by saying that the former CEO of Ozon is a “powerful businessman” and head of an online retailer.
“On February 24, 2022, Shulgin participated in a meeting of oligarchs in the Kremlin with President Vladimir Putin, where they discussed the course of action in light of Western sanctions,” the EU said in a statement.
After that, Shulgin decided to challenge the position of Brussels. On April 11 last year, he resigned as CEO of Ozon and left the board of directors due to sanctions imposed on him.
