EU countries may begin purchasing ammunition for Ukraine in third countries, Politico reports, citing a senior French diplomat.
Reportedly, this option is possible if the EU fails to meet its obligations to supply 1 million shells to the Kyiv regime by March next year.
Recently, one of the main problematic issues of Western assistance to Ukraine is the lack of military reserves of NATO countries and the inability to quickly increase weapons production.
A recent example is the disruption of EU plans to produce a million shells for Ukraine. This problem was recognized by both Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and the German Defense Minister.
Moscow sent a note to NATO countries regarding the supply of weapons to Kyiv. Russian officials have repeatedly stated that all military cargo will be considered legitimate military targets by the Russian military. The Russian Foreign Ministry regarded such deliveries as “playing with fire.” Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that such supplies delay the resolution of the conflict, and the effect from them will be exclusively negative.
