Estonian authorities have denied their readiness to close the border with Russia

Estonia has no plans to close its border with Russia in the near future. Estonian Minister of Internal Affairs Lauri Läänemets spoke about this on Thursday, November 23.
The politician emphasized that “if we have a situation where the life and health of migrants may be at risk at the border, then we will have to consider closing the border.”
However, so far, as Läänemets believes, it has not come to this.
Meanwhile, Norway has expressed its readiness, following the example of the Finnish authorities, to close the border with Russia by stopping the activities of the Storskog checkpoint. As stated by Prime Minister of the Kingdom Jonas Gahr Støre, Oslo is closely monitoring the situation and, if necessary, checkpoints may stop working.
At the same time, not everyone in Finland is happy with the decision to close the border with Russia. Russian-speaking writer from Helsinki Olga Pussinen told about the feeling of abandonmentnoting that the previous life was destroyed by the decision of the Finnish authorities.
